I wanted my Linux server to send SMS messages to my mobile phone to alert me of certain events. But how do you teach a Linux machine to send SMS messages? Simple by using a short shell script in combination with an account with Voipbuster. No hardware required!
Also using a PHP script allows you to send SMS text messages, with the aid of Voipbuster. This way your web site can send SMS text messages, even on most hosted web sites. Shell access on the web server is not required.
